Between March and December 2022 sixteen painters met in the studio of artist Marco Emmanuele for a series of relational painting sessions using the Drawing machine #5.2. In each session two painters, both anchored to the machine and facing opposite directions, painted while transmitting their practice to their companion, who, in turn, followed it using the same brushes and colors. The publication was produced on the occasion of the exhibition Amici o pittori (2023, Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, Rome) and includes relational paintings by Marco Affaitati, Paolo Assenza, Orazio Battaglia, Dario Carratta, Giulio Catelli, Valerio Di Fiore, Marco Eusepi, Krizia Galfo, Alessandro Giannì, Luca Grechi, Charlotte Janis, Emiliano Maggi, Andrea Mauti, Gianni Politi, Fabrizio Sartori and Caterina Silva, as well as a series of conversations and texts by Marco Emmanuele and Diego Miguel Mirabella.
