MONOLOGO PER UNA PIETRA

Monologo per una pietra is a publication conceived by Marie Hervé and Elsa Martinez on the occasion of the installation Milieux des terres (Campo aperto, 2025), where images, used as construction materials, are shattered through reuse, repetition, and decomposition, becoming the very matter of a speculative and ever-shifting archaeology. The work emerges from a research practice that moves across the Mediterranean, from Sicily to Greece, from southern France to the Middle East, to question the founding myths of Western civilization and to explore the boundaries between ruin, archive, new construction, and rewriting. Within this horizon, Monologo per una pietra is a fragment of a discourse that is both archaeological and poetic, where the image becomes an obscure instrument of memory, an echo of a time that crumbles.
